Happy 19th Birthday, Arielle!!!!

Happy Birthday, Arielle!!!

19 years ago today, I was given the greatest gift (until my second greatest gift arrived 2 1/2 years later) when my daughter Arielle was born. I've talked about her quite a bit recently since she graduated from high school last week and will soon be off to college.

Arriving at a bit under 7 pounds, she made up for her pint size body with killer blue eyes and the most beautiful face I'd ever seen. She was an emergency C-section. She was late, but when she decided it was time to make her grand entrance into the world, she was in a hurry to arrive.

My life changed in ways I can't ever explain to someone who hasn't experienced the joy and heartache being a mother can be. I'd never want anything else. I'll never stop worrying about her, but I'm as ready as I can be to let her try her wings.

Now I turn the reigns over to my girl. Look out world, here she comes!

Happy Birthday, Trevor!!!! (Plus an update on me)

Today is a huge milestone in my son's life. He turned 16! How did that happen? Those last years just seem to have flown by.

We went out to eat at Red Lobster with his grandparents. Of course, I slipped a note to the waitress that we were celebrating, so they came around and sang for him. He was turning red, but I know he loved it, even though he claimed that he didn't want that done. He should know better. I never let a special event go by without recognition. These are the little things he'll never forget. Who care if we don't have a mansion?

After dinner, we ran to the mall for a few minutes, then came home to open up his gifts. We got him a TV, Arielle gave him a lap blanket she designed and sewed herself, my parents gave him a video game and Randy's mom got him a laptop. That hasn't arrived yet, so he has to wait a bit for it. Yes, Trevor is a wee bit spoiled. I figure it this way, he's had a very rough life so far with his health, so if playing a few video games makes him happy when he's not able to be out, so be it. He's had over a dozen major surgeries done on both ears. On his left side, they've removed his mastoid bone and completely rebuilt his eardrum and two of three hearing bones. It's truly a miricle he's able to hear at all. There's significant hearing loss, but he can hear. That's all that matters in the long run. He doesn't want short hair because the scar is very noticable where his left ear was cut off to do the surgeries. It embarasses him when people ask about it. The right ear only had one main surgery when the eardrum had to be repaired after an IDIOT POS sucker punched him at school and broke this eardrum. All the kids know about his ear problems. It's a very small school district, so the brat did it delibertly. WHY? A girl, what else? The girl liked Trevor and not the POS. Trevor wouldn't hit back. He knows no fighting, but especially not in school. Obviously, the other kid wasn't taught the same. So typical! Not a thing was done to punish the kid. Makes me sick to think about it.
Anyhow, we hope he's done with all the ear surgeries, but nothing is guaranteed. He visits a specialist once a year to keep an eye on it. One little infection could cause huge problems.

Tomorrow, I have to go to the hospital for a CT scan with constrast and all that fun stuff. The pain has moved recently and it concerns the doctor. He said it sounds like it could be an aneurysm and wants the scan done ASAP. Am I scared? A little. I'd be lying if I said different, but I just want to know what's causing the pain. I know that little thing could cause a world of problems or just kill me, but at least then we'd know something. Will post when we're back from the hospital. I'm back on the strong pain pills for a few weeks until we know for sure what the scans say. They knock me out and I sound like a loon when talking after taking them, but keep the pain knocked down enough that I can be aware of life.

Happy Birthday, Trevor!!!!

Happy Birthday, my beloved little man! My Trevor is 15 today. Where did all those years go? Seems like only yesterday when he was born, but now I have to look up to see his handsome face and stand on a chair to give him a kiss. It's not that I'm THAT short, I prefer to say I'm fun sized. :)

We took him to Ruby Tuesday for dinner and gave him all his gifts there. Can you believe they aren't allowed to sing there? They got too many complaints from other patrons, so had to stop it. How insane! They also aren't allowed to decorate or celebrate Christmas. Insanity!!!

Happy Birthday, Adriene and Karly!

Saturday, the entire family gathered to celebrate two of our younger members' birthdays. Our Adriene is now 5 and Karly is 10. Where do all those years go?

The party was held at a near-by Party Barn that had a pool table, video games and rides - kinda like a Chuckee Cheese without the mouse and pizza. The kids had a blast playing games. The food was excellent and both girls got a ton of gifts.

I'm a skeeball addict and also quite deadly at Wack-A-Mole. Those were the areas I was found.

Happy Birthday, Randy!!!

Today is my love bug's birthday. I've spent my entire adult life with him and it's hard to remember a time when he wasn't there. Even when we were on different continents for our birthdays, we try to make it special. (Hazards of being married to a US Marine. He got discharged after the first Iraq war and now we're always together.)

We celebrated early when we went to Pittsburgh on Friday. We stopped at Joe's Crab Shack and had a blast. They got him up and put on a grass skirt and pink lei. He wouldn't hula, but it was still a lot of fun. At least he has a sense of humor! He knew I had blabbed to the waitress that it was his birthday party and was just waiting to see what we were going to do. Couldn't just let the day go by unnoticed!

If it doesn't rain, we're planning to go to the drive in tonight and see the new Harry Potter movie. Yes, we all love the boy wizard!

Happy Birthday, Gage!

Today is my little cousin Gage's first birthday! He's officially a big boy now. :) His party is tomorrow and hopefully, I'll be able to get there. Picked him out an adorable Winnie the Pooh stuffed toy (shhh don't tell him) :)

This is Gage and me at Thanksgiving. I'm rarely seen without my sunglasses. Light is a very bad thing for migraines. :(

Happy Birthday, Melissa!

You're hitting a milestone today. Hope you enjoy it!

Melissa is one of my cousins. We're an extremely close family. She's a "few" years younger than me and I use to babysit her. Now she's all grown up and a mom now.

Happy Birthday, Trevor D!!

Today is my darling little boy's 14th birthday. Hard to believe that many years have gone by, but I know it must be true when I have to look up at my baby. He has a good 5 inches on me. His voice is getting deeper and he's losing that baby look.

Randy is on second shift today, so he won't even get to see him today. He has tomorrow off, so we're all going out to Red Lobster to celebrate then. He'll get the rest of his gifts then.

Today, my mom, A and I took him for a nice Chinese meal. We gave him a couple presents - a Halo backpack that isn't available in the USA yet and A made him a green gym bag during her sewing class. It looks like something you'd buy in a store. She has a lot of talent. She wants to be a fashion designer, so it's an important talent to have. :)

He'll spend the rest of the night in his room, playing video games, but it's what he wants. I'm not able to really do much, so it's a good choice. Going for food and stopping to get cat food took more energy than I have. Need to rest up for tomorrow.

I'm getting nervous about the Cleveland trip. It's less than a week away. I know in my head it's going to be a good thing to have these treatments, but then I remember the neurologist saying that it's really going to hurt the first couple days and I get scared. Do I really want to put myself through more pain? SIGH! Just can't win. There's no chance I'll get better without the treatment, but is a chance worth more pain?

Happy Sweet 16, Jessamy!!

Today my cousin Jessamy turns 16. Yes, she has hit that age where it's time to begin the change from child to young woman. Scary thought!

I hope you have a wonderful day, Honey!!!

Happy Birthday, Love Bug!

Today is my hubby's 42nd birthday. He had to work this morning, but we'll be going out for a nice meal when he gets home. I'm thinking maybe Red Lobster, we all love seafood and he deserves a night out for all the hard work he does.

Our anniversary is coming up next month. It'll be 20 years we've been married. Where do all those years go? I've spent my entire adult life with him. We got together the weekend before I left for college. He was home on leave (US Marines) and we ran into each other and have been together ever since. I never did graduate from college, but I wouldn't change a thing about the life we've had so far. :)

Happy Birthday, little man!!

Thirteen years ago, my little boy was born. Where did all those years go? More importantly, how am I old enough to have two teenagers?

To celebrate this milestone in his life, we went to State College and stopped at Hooters. Yes, that place. The food was great! I had crab legs because I can't eat wings. Too yummy! The girls all signed a tee shirt for him and posed for a photo with him after singing happy birthday. He turned red when they got him up on a chair and handed him pom poms to dance along.

He got new Halo 3 clothes (of course), an Eragon DVD and gift card for Game Stop, plus money.

After lunch, we ran to the mall so he could spend his birthday money. Game Stop, Hot Topic, Suncoast Videos and B. Dalton Bookstore were his only stops. Of course, our daughter had to hit Aeropostale. Can't miss that store. She has more clothes than the rest of us put together, but can't keep from getting more.

Now we're home and he's installing his newest computer game.
