Damn, what a cool picture! A little scary, too - kudos to you for having the guts to stick around to compose it. I likely would have wimped out!

BTW, I'm a writer, too. I'm glad to have "met" you via WW. My entry is up here:

Looking forward to reading more of your work.

All the best,

Great shot, Gretchen.

Thanks for the visit and the comment. Yep, teaching our kids to drive has been great .... and watching the reaction of other drivers when they are behind a learner says so, so, so much about human nature!

Talk about blending in with your surroundings! I don't think I would have had the nerve to stay and get the shot. =8^O

My WW today is the full moon at Disney World.

Hi Gretchen - regarding the comment you left for me about being behind the camera, and seeing life through the lens instead of being IN life. Yes, I've had that feeling sometimes. Like I am so intent on getting perfect shots (as perfect as a know-nothing can make them LOL), I'm not actually HAVING the experience, I'm just photographing it. It's like being a constant observer instead of an experiencer. I have to remind myself to stop taking photos. I think the digital age did this to us - wouldn't be an issue if we were still shooting rolls of 36 exposure and spending all that money to develop them!

The snakes a beautiful. I would give them a pass. I am not fond of snakes. One of the joys of living here is there are not many snakes and. The only poisonous one is about 40 miles away, Massassauga Rattle snake.
