Skywatch Friday 22

Keeping with my Gettysburg theme, I took this when we were there for our 20th anniversary in August. Guess I'm just feeling nostalgic tonight and wanted to revisit some of my happy memories.

I've been there and it is very moving and haunting. My parents are Civil War Buffs and we heard a lot about it as kids. It's nice to have the photos to help bring back nice memories from a trip...

Very wonderful skywatch shot, Gretchen. It's really a sad, moving, awesome place, isn't it? I've been there a couple of times and I felt so sorry for all the pain and misery that field witnessed.

What a wonderfully dramatic background the sky's providing for such a pose! Beautiful. I visited Gettysburg as a child, and have never forgotten the feelings I had there--the awe, and the sorrow.

Wonderful photo.

Very nice photo and a lovely blog. I am sorry for your headache problem, my husband has same problem too. Who doesn't have it , or do not live with person with it, cannot imagine how many problems you all have. He had same treatment as you. No result. I believe and hope that acupuncture and alternative medicine can help to all with that problem.

Great photo and great skywatch - I almost expect a follow-up photo showing the horse and rider heading out into the sunset.

What a fine photograph. It gives off a strong feeling.
About your question--No, I don't think Santa is very popular in Israel. Most of the Christian minority are Arab Christians and Santa is just not in their tradition.

Hi Gretchen, nice photo. I have always has a fascination with the American Civil and have read many accounts of it. I just find it hard to comprehend that a nation can become that divided. Reminds me of our own Anglo Boer War and more recently the struggle for independence. What is it about the nature of man that makes us so prone to resorting to violence and war?
